As part of the BoardVitals Nursing School Scholarship program, two students who have excelled academically and have shown an interest in nursing industry innovations are awarded scholarships. The grand prize winner will receive a $2,000 VISA Prepaid Card as their prize. The runner-up will receive a VISA Prepaid Card worth $1,500, while the third-place finisher will receive a VISA Prepaid Card worth $500.
You must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and a full-time student in good standing at a recognized nursing program in the United States to be considered for this award. An online application and a 500-word essay detailing “What are your core principles, and how do they influence the contributions you hope to make as a nurse?” are needed of participants.
2. University of Surrey Ted Adams Trust Scholarships for Nursing Students
Students at the University of Surrey who are enrolled in one of the following nursing programs are eligible to apply for the Ted Adams Trust Scholarship, which awards a maximum of £9,000 over a period of three years, at the rate of £3,000 per year. The scholarship was established to encourage and support nursing students at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Specifications for Submission of an Application
If you want to be considered for the AvaCare Scholarship, you need to make sure you meet these criteria:
- You need to prove that you are either a legal resident of the United States or a citizen of the United States to be eligible for this position. You must be a graduating high school senior or a full-time student in a U.S. college or university. You need a 3.0 GPA overall to be considered. 4. Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarships
The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) gives out multiple scholarships on an annual basis to deserving students who are pursuing higher education in a variety of fields, such as history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, math, science, and English. Scholarship winners are expected to show that they are serious about furthering their studies.
The DAR does not use factors such as gender, race, color, religion, nationality, or handicap in its scholarship awarding or evaluation processes.
- Proof of citizenship in the United States is a requirement for candidates.
- Applicants must either already be enrolled in, or be planning to enroll at, a college or university in the United States that meets certain criteria.
- Scholarships that last for multiple years are typically renewable for up to four years, and during that time, the awardee must maintain continuous enrollment at the same institution.
- Scholarships can be awarded based on a variety of characteristics, such as academic performance, demonstrated interest in the study area, demonstrated financial need, and so on.
- The DAR rewards are placed with the recipient’s school of enrollment, and any unused funds must be returned to the DAR.

5. Geraldine “Polly” Bednash Scholarship
Outstanding nursing students in baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate programs at AACN member institutions are eligible to apply for one of two $5,000 scholarships awarded four times yearly in honor of Geraldine “Polly” Bednash.
To apply, please submit an essay of no more than 250 words that discusses your educational and professional aspirations.
The following requirements must be met by all scholarship applicants:
- Keep a GPA of at least 3.2 in your current or most recent academic program.
- Attend a school that is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) and either have been accepted to or currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree nursing program. OR you have applied to a nursing program through NursingCAS.

6. Susan Wakil Scholarships – Postgraduate Greater Sydney
The Susan Wakil Scholarships were endowed by a generous donor to the University of Sydney to support graduate-level nursing education. Sydney-based Australian nationals can earn a full tuition remission of up to AUD $8,625 if they study at the University of New South Wales.
Eligibility
- one must either be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia and one must be a native of the Greater Sydney region to qualify.
- take at least 12 credits in the first semester of an approved degree program have been accepted to or have started the first year of a Master of Nursing (graduate admission) or Advanced Learning Specialization Master’s degree program at Sydney Nursing School
7. American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Scholarship Program

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) is proud to support the nursing profession’s current and future leaders.
Applicants will be notified of the results once the scholarship recipients have been chosen. A signed, written acknowledgment form is required in order to claim a scholarship award.
Conditions of Eligibility
Prospective candidates must:
- Have U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.
- In addition, you cannot be related to, or a current, member of the AANP Board of Directors or a state liaison.
- A member of the AANP staff or a member of the AANP staff’s immediate family is ineligible.
- Take the next step in your education and enroll in a graduate program at a recognized university.
- Have completed at least one semester of the course(s) in which you are enrolled.
- A master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or a closely related field is required to participate in this program.
- Completion of the degree is expected between August 2022 and June 2023. (July).
8. FNSNA Undergraduate Scholarship Program
There are two distinct scholarship opportunities available through the Undergraduate Scholarship Program offered by the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA): the General Scholarship Program and the Promise of Nursing Program. Undergraduates studying nursing can apply for one of these awards. Both are open to current nursing students and “are based on academic achievement, financial need, and involvement in nursing student groups and community activities relating to health care.”
The General Scholarship Program provides up to $7,500 year to qualified recipients while encouraging them to pursue careers in underrepresented areas of nursing including cancer and emergency care.
Johnson & Johnson has established the Promise of Nursing Scholarship Program to help address the national nursing shortage. In order to apply for the Promise of Nursing program, applicants must both live in and enroll in a state-approved program for nursing education. Each academic year, grants of up to $7,500 may be awarded. Registration for the 2023 competition will open later this year, but the application time for 2022 has already closed.
9. The Nurses Education Bursary
Bursaries totaling up to $30,000 are awarded annually through this program to the most financially needy applicants to nursing schools who meet the program’s other requirements.
Possible criteria for eligibility include:
are actively enrolled as full-time students in an accredited nursing program at a recognized British Columbia post-secondary institution; such a program must last at least four months and lead to a certificate, diploma, or degree that is valid for practice in the province.
Notes:
Ineligible for assistance under this program are those who have filed for bankruptcy that includes their B.C. Student Loans or who are currently in default on their B.C. Student Loans.
Due to funding limitations, not all eligible candidates will get a grant, even if they demonstrate financial need. Throughout the life of the bursary, the applicants will be ranked against one another based on their demonstrated need for financial support.
No part-time nursing students will be accepted into this program.
10. Coursey Enterprises Student Scholarships
Every semester, in both the spring and the fall, Coursey Enterprises bestows onto deserving students two scholarships, valued at a total of $500.00 each.
To be eligible for fall nursing school scholarships, applications must be submitted between February 1 and June 1. They will be given out in the month of September. Scholarships for the spring must be applied for between the 1st of September and the 1st of December. They will be given out in the month of January.
